Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the sole celebrity who crossed from country into the mainstream and become an international icon of pop culture. Swift left country music like it was a second layer, showing that she's perhaps the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. Someone who is able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and also sing in the other direction. Swift's early songs, including her neo celebration of Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But her 2008 album Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit but not only in the United States (where it earned with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia and the U.K. as well as other nations. Swift's next album Speak Now, released just two years after the first one, consolidated this success. It helped propel Swift to the heights of fame. In the following three years, Swift's popularity increased with the release of three albums -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) as well as 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as Swift entered the realm of pop in which her talent was already established. She was in the forefront of pop even when she dropped her style with her sibling albums folklore & Evermore in the year 2020.
